Bab Taghout makes progress

We pass through Bab Taghout nearly every day on our way to shop and get our orange juice so we take great interest in the progress of the work. The new arch is complete although traffic is still unable to use it as they are working on the adjacent walls. The crumbling corner near by is now being rebuilt as a whole new bastion or rebutment. Shuttering is erected a block at a time and filled with earth which is then ramped down with a jack hammer and left to settle and then dry. It is then covered with a coating layer to smooth it out and then a final render.

The new arch is complete but work continues on the wall adjacent to Bab Taghout

Bab Taghout earlier last November when they had breached the wall but not started the new arch.
