YES THEY ChAN

Morocco has been hosting the Championship of African Nations for the last 3 weeks. It was supposed to be hosted by Kenya which was judged insufficiently prepared in September and Morocco was selected as a substitute, doubtless because it had the stadiums prepared for the abortive 2015 African Cup of Nations. This tournament takes place in alternate years to the African Cup of Nations and the reason no-one in Britain has heard of it is that to be eligible to play you have not only to be birth qualified to play for the country but also be playing your football for a club in the country so all the footballers playing in Europe are ineligible.
Last night Morocco won the tournament beating Nigeria in a 4-0 rout. They were aided a little by Nigeria's centre forward being sent off for a second yellow cars when they were 2-0 up but this really only reflected his desperation in the face of Morocco's dominance of the game. We need to savour this because, as Beloved pointed out, they won't win it in 2020 as all their players will be signed to european clubs.
The schools have been on holiday these 3 weeks and the teacher has been on a tour of relatives who coincidentally live near the various venues.
